Employment
The Las Vegas valley is the fastest growing area in the country. More than 60,000 people are added to the valley's population every year.
The Chamber of Commerce and the Nevada Development Authority work to attract more business into the Las Vegas valley. The benefits include no corporate income taxes, no taxes on corporate shares, no personal income tax, no inventory tax, and a friendly business climate.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Nevada created new jobs at a faster rate than all other states in 2004.
"Although sixty-six cents of every dollar spent in Nevada originates from tourism, only one-third of the jobs in Nevada are directly related to the gaming industry."
Nevada is a "work at will" state; you can be fired (and you can leave your job) without any reason. Certain jobs require a work card.
Be aware that employment applications in some cases will require information about your employment history for the past ten years and such details may include information about your parents and siblings.
